Welcome to Rozi Roti Food Bank, your local halal food support based in Oshawa, Durham Region. We are a community-driven initiative committed to providing nutritious food to individuals and families who face food insecurity in our neighborhoods.
With your help, we strive to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
Rozi Roti Food Bank is the only food bank based in Oshawa, Durham Region dedicated to serving 100% halal food, ensuring that no family has to choose between their faith and their next meal. We understand that dietary needs are a fundamental part of well-being, and we are committed to providing nutritious, halal food to those facing food insecurity.
Durham Region’s population is estimated to be around 700,000, and with rapid growth in areas like Oshawa and Pickering, food insecurity is on the rise. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing living costs have made it harder for families to put food on the table.
Despite Canada’s reputation for prosperity, food insecurity is a national crisis. Over 2 million Canadians accessed food banks in 2024, a 32% increase from pre-pandemic levels. Our community is no exception-many families are forced to make difficult choices between paying rent, utilities, or buying groceries.
Food banks like Rozi Roti provide essential, halal-certified food to those facing hardship, ensuring everyone can access food that aligns with their dietary and religious needs.
Rozi Roti is more than just a food bank-it is a lifeline for those in need, built on the principles of dignity, compassion, and accessibility. Unlike traditional food banks, our delivery-based model ensures that families receive food discreetly, eliminating barriers of transportation and stigma that may prevent people from seeking help.

Since its inception, Rozi Roti Food Bank has grown from a small community initiative into a vital support system for families across Durham Region, including Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Clarington, Bowmanville, and Courtice and expanding to other communities. With your help, we continue to expand our reach and impact.
